Sources & methodology

Every figure on this site comes from the cruise line itself: its press-center fact sheets, newsroom fact sheets or official ship pages. We record the exact URL and the date we read it, and show both on each ship page. We do not use fan sites, wikis or third-party databases for figures, and we never estimate. If a line does not publish something, we write "Not published".

What "guests" means

Cruise lines count passengers differently. We always show the line's own label: "double occupancy" or "lower berths" (two guests per cabin), or "as published" when the line does not say. Lists that compare guest numbers across lines only use double-occupancy or lower-berth figures.

Rankings

Lists are sorted by a published figure (gross tonnage, year) or a simple count (for example, how many family features a ship's official fact sheet lists). The method is written on every list, and every rank reads "#N in [list] · ranked by public data". We don't test or sail ships for this site: a rank is only an ordering of figures the cruise lines publish. Nobody can pay for a position; a sponsored row is marked "AD · SPONSORED · not ranked" and the numbering skips it.

Coverage

135 ships. Core figures tracked: Ship class, Entered service, Gross tonnage, Guests, Crew, Decks, Length, Last refurbishment. 701 of 1080 core values are published by the lines. Last checked Oct 26, 2026.

What we don't do

We don't copy deck plans or other sites' text, and we haven't sailed these ships for this site. Deck plans belong to the cruise lines; ship pages link to the official source.
